The Beginning of a New Evolution

September 30th, 2007 § 0

In such a short amount of time my life has been turned completely upside down. In almost a course of a year (November 2006 until now) I have experienced great loss and moments of a great satisfaction and achievement. I have lost a sibling, two jobs, ended a longterm relationship, and almost lost my apartment; I also started a business, vacationed in Paris, France, and California, as well as traveled to NYC and met up with a great friend and I’ve also recently reconnected with an old friend that I haven’t been in contact with in approximately ten years. To say that I have experienced an overwhelming amount of highs and lows would most definitely be the understatement of my lifetime.

Although I have experienced such an unimaginable set of circumstances, I have remained positive and have proven to be triumphant through it all. The saying, “what doesn’t kill you, will only make you stronger,” is not just a quote people spout when they have nothing else to say, it is indeed a fact of life.

On this particular journey of evolution, I have reached a higher greatness — not in status — but in knowledge of self and my ability to overcome any obstacle that poses to be a hindrance to my progression. This is not to say that I won’t stumble along the way. No, that is not it at all. Every unforeseen event will show itself and try to overpower me and steer me away from my ultimate destiny. However, my strength and resolve has been tested and at every turn I have found a way to tap into a deeper well of strength that I have forgotten existed, and I have prevailed.

God only knows I didn’t expect to be here at 31 of years still in Pittsburgh and in the ‘place’ in life I am now. Never did I imagine that I would arrive ‘here.’ But I am … and gratefully so. Now, I am embarking on an entirely new evolution — one that will consist of extreme change, extreme growth, and extreme results. The goals I have set for myself are almost intimidating, but as I live and breathe, they will be accomplished. I have given myself a certain amount of time and a strict deadline to see them through. Once those are completed, I will move on to the next evolution … and I can’t wait to see what happens after that.

This blog will serve numerous purposes, but the primary goal is to document my life and evolution and to possibly inspire others to embrace themselves and to begin his or her own fruitful journey of evolution.
